SPANISH STUCCO
The brief
The client requested interesting plants and given the long narrow garden bed, depth was created by adding some natives - Tecomanthe Speciosa vine; Kaka Beak & Euphorbia to name a few. South African Cabbage trees were planted as a focal point and an Australian Lily which will eventually grow to 2 metres (a strong graphic form contrasting with the existing mature plants).
Poolside
Agapanthes were replaced along the stucco wall beside the pool with a light grey Teucrium fruiticans hedge which produces lovely delicate lavendar coloured flowers.

Garden bed
South African cabbage trees were underplanted with Chinese fringe flower which produce a flurry of pink pretty flowers in spring. The Three Kings vine will find it's way up the fence with it's large lush green leaves. It is a large native vine that produces cream trumpet like flowers loved by native birds.
